Ribbons vista
This one is pretty cool
Go to start menu, then all programmes, then accessories, then command prompt.
When the screen comes up type in "ribbons.scr /p65552" (without the quotes) you should also try these ones too.
"aurora.scr /p65552" (without the quotes)
"bubbles.scr /p65552" (without the quotes)
to close these screens you will then require to open the task manager (Ctrl, Alt and delete keys at the same time and close the programs in end task.)
These are all I could find for now but when I find more I will add them

Notepad glitch
Notepad has a strange glitch with some combinations of words. It happens when you open notepad, type in certain phrases, save the file, close and open the file, and the document is magically changed. This got popular with a certain conspiracy theory phrase of "bush hid the facts", making it appear that your operating system is keeping you from your freedom of speech. The funny thing though is that it also changes phrases like "bill fed the goats" and "hhhh hhh hhh hhhhh". It's some sort of Unicode error with 4, 3, 3, and 5 letter words seperated by spaces. The system apparently detects some combinations as unreadable characters.
Play movies in MSPaint
This can actually be done in any imaging type software, even Photoshop. Play a dvd movie on your computer, and take a screen shot while it's playing (print screen button). Now open up MSPaint and paste the screen shot into the application, and you won't see a screen shot of the movie, it will appear to play inside of MSPaint. You have no control of the movie ofcourse, but it's still pretty amusing.
Hidden Defrag Command Line Switch
Go to Start - Run, type defrag c: -b to defragment the Boot and Application prefetch locations. Windows XP schedules this function automatically every few days, so this is only really necessary for you UBER geeks out there... you know who you are.

windows xp ---- "0" Blank File, and Clock AVI File
For Windows XP, If you look in your "My Computer\C:\WINDOWS\" In this folder, after all other folders, you find a text file named "0". If you open it, nothing will be in there, hence the filename "0".Another thing would be a file called "Clock". It's an AVI file. It can open it in Windows Media Player. It's a very simple and plain animation.
Easter eggs
A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, or video game. The term draws a parallel with the custom of the Easter egg hunt observed in many western nations. In computer programming, the underlying motivation is often to put an individual, almost artistic touch on an intellectual product which is by its nature standardised and functional.
